This peeler IS amazing!!!Jul 26, 2010
After reading other reviews here about this peeler I ordered it although I have been faithfully using my old-fashioned stainlees peeler for more than 20 years, thinking it couldn't be improved upon. Well, was I ever surprised. This is the peeler to end all peelers! So slick and just the right size. I've never seen anything slice through potatoes, cucumbers and other vegs. like this. I'm so glad I took the advice offered here and purchased the Rosle...I knew their products were high quality but even I was impressed.

This is like the Ferrari of peelers! I just got it last night and ended up peeling way too many potatoes for dinner because I couldn't stop. It is extraordinarily sharp and has a very nice weight and balance.
I even made my boyfriend try it just to feel it. So smooth and requires no pressure at all.
Gorgeous design.
Buy it!

This product exceeded my expectations - which were already very high going in, based upon the reviews here. It takes nothing more than its own weight - no pressure from you at all (in fact, some negative pressure may be warranted)- to produce the thinnest possible peel and save the most of the vegetable or fruit from the garbage disposal or compost pile. (As one reviewer noted, it really does "glide" through the task.)
This is one of those products just pricey enough to inspire guilt and cause anticipatory buyer's remorse in some. Please, don't let that get to you. Just buy this and you'll feel proud of yourself and may actually have some fun performing what is, after all, a pretty drudgerous (well, it should be a word) task.
It also looks so good it will never see the inside of the drawer but rather will continue to hang in full view in my knife area.

I bought every single peeler on amazon trying to find a good one. this beat them all. i loved the kyocera peelers and had many of them but the blade was constantly coming off the handle and was hard to replace. this rosle peeler is well made my only complaints are that it is a bit heavy and the peeling blade is a bit narrow. But as far as peeling goes it does the job better than any other..

World's Greatest Potato PeelerApr 11, 2009
This is the third Rösle Crosswise Swivel Peeler that I have purchased. After buying my initial one, for my own use and over the objections of my wife who thought $25 was too much for a mere potato peeler, I have since bought one for my daughter and one for a daughter-in-law. It seems that not only did my wife come around once we got the peeler, but the other women in my family developed peeler envy. Anyway, what you need to know about this kitchen gadet is that it works GREAT. No more peeling away much of the potato, no more wrestling with flimsy plastic peelers, no more worrying about cutting off a finger with a kitchen knife.
The Rösle is a quality gadget that gets the job done cleanly and quickly with minimal waste. It has some heft and fits easily in the hand. It makes peeling potatoes--or lots of other veggies--downright fun. Even my granddaughter quickly and flawlessly removed the peeling from Thanksgiving dinner potatoes.
OK, I know, I know, it's JUST A POTATO PEELER, but trust me when I tell you this is a special one that's well worth the price. And like I said, it can be used to peel lots of veggies other than potatoes, though its potato-focus is made clear by a little tab on the peeler that is useful for removing the eyes found in potatoes.
This is, I'm sure, the world's greatest potato peeler. If it's not, there must be one out there that peels all by itself.
