*NOT* for 2008 and newer Summit S-600 series grills!Sep 03, 2010
Just a quick note to everyone looking at this griddle. The 7542 product info online here and at Weber lists Summit S-600 series among the grill series this griddle will fit.
However please note that the 7542 griddle will *ONLY* fit 2007 and older models of Summit S-600 series grills! Some dimensional specs on the grills evidently changed after 2007.
If you have a 2008 or newer Summit S-600 series grill, you will need a Weber 7404. I found this information noted in a review of the Weber 7404 griddle, and confirmed it with Weber when I talked to them this morning.

Unfortunately we had already ordered a 7542 when I found this information, I contacted Amazon and they tried but it was too late to stop it from shipping. Amazon advised us to refuse shipment on the 7542 and we would get full credit/refund when the package shows up refused in UPS's tracking system. Will be ordering a 7404!
Looking forward to grilling and griddling on my new Summit 670 (also ordered through Amazon)!

Bought a Brinkman stainless steel grill from Amazom several years ago. The porcelain grates didn't last long at all. However, the rest of the grill is pretty well built. I was pleased to discover that Weber stainless steel grates and the cast iron griddle fit perfectly.

The flat side of the griddle had a factory defect. There was a shiny depression. A spatula cannot get under the food in this quarter size area.

After purchasing the product, I have a couple of thoughts: one, it appears to me that it is significantly over-priced; and, two, does the potential usage warrant this kind of expenditure? Each buyer may want to ask these questions before purchasing this product. I would add that it seems to be of good quality.

This griddle is great and I highly recommend it. I've fried eggs, bacon and pancakes on it after "seasoning" it of course. Here is the catch; make sure to heat and remove all the wax coating (mentioned in the directions) that comes on the iron griddle. Otherwise everything will stick. I've yet to try the opposite side with the raised grate but I'm sure it works just as well as the smooth side.
